free vista upgradeShould i get the free vista upgrade?

ok, i've heard gory stories about the vista but i'm just wondering the reliability of these sources. I have a friend who is using it and her hands on experience says that it's not bad at all even tho it's not all that much different than xp beside the interface. With that in mind, the stories about how s***y vista is still scares me.

I can get a free upgrade to vista from windows media center (mce) so i figured might as well get it. MS has been working on the vista for like 5 years or something, more than any other previous OS's. Wouldn't they fix up their drivers that don't work yet and whatever bugs ASAP since Mac is such a worthy opponent now?

So ok, calling all you xp/mce to vista users or just vista users:
1. Should i get the FREE express upgrade?
2. What are your views on the vista from your experience?
3. How/why is vista so bad in your eyesfree vista upgrade?
4. (Might be the same as 3 but more concise) What's wrong with vista compared to XP or MCE?
*thorough answers will be awarded!
If you want to try it make another partition. One could have XP and one could have Vista. That's what my friend did. I tried Vista on his computer. It is good. I think you should give it a chance. If your computer is compatible with Vista I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Except software compatibility. But if you have vista and xp on your computer you should have nothing to worry about. I hope this helps you! If you want to make another partition. I can find a link to show you how. Just message me.
No way! Don't do it! You'll regret it.

1.) Only if you have a compelling reason to do so
2.) It is badly thought out and horrible to use
3.) It does not cater for the needs of the free vista upgradeuser
4.) Lack of application support and software compatability
NO! They want you to be their guinea pig and you're going to? You're smarter than that.
I work in an IT dept and we have sent out communications to all of our staff prohibiting them from downloading it on company computers. Apparently, there are A LOT of issues that need to be considered - Microsoft Vista currently lacks Antivirus support with Symantec Antivirus. In addition to antivirus limitations, Vista has capability issues with several enterprise applications because of its default browser, Internet Explorer 7. And, it may be incompatible with some of the software on your computer.

I would say wait a while......if it was so awesome, Microsoft wouldn't be giving it away for free.....
