I'm currently building a new gaming PC and this time I just want to save the time and hassle and just buy a genuine copy of windows. Unfortunately their garbage OS is overpriced and I would prefer to buy the cheapest one available. Anyways, from what I have heard OEM licenses are tied to the very first computer you install and activate it on. So does that mean if I delete my windows partition from my hard drive and reinstall windows to my machinwindows 7 full oeme, I have to purchase another license?
The only difference is that Retail can be installed on multiple machines (1 at a time of course) and has tech support.
OEM is bound to your first system you install it on but can always be reinstalled if you have to format.
so Basically around 50-60 bucks cheaper for for no tech support, multiple machine support and no fancy box.
Your call.
OEM Disc's are used by companies like Dell to install the one copy windows 7 full oemof windows on all their computers during the manufacturing stage.
If you install a DELL OEM on a HP computer it will be non activated.
If you install a DELL OEM on a DELL it will work 100% and be activated.
Torrentz.com or Warez-bb.org both you can download OEM versions of windows to "replace" your lost copy.
You can download an Image File from here perfectly legal but of course you still have 30 days to
activate
