I had my first session in the gym today I managed to walk/run 5k in 43 minutes.Is this average for a beginner or am I very unfit.
I ran my first 5k this morning and managed a 29:52. Everything depends on your age, gender etc. Keep working at it and soon you will be able to run the whole thing. Never give up and kep up the good work. Once you get into running you will feel amazing!

It usually takes about 30 minutes for beginnhow to run 5kers. This is combining both running and walking. Of course, your main goal is to be able to run the entire 5k (3.1 miles). I found this cool 5k training program that could help you out.

5 kilometers= 3 miles.
I can run a mile in 6-8 minutes. (I've been playing soccer for a LONG time so I'm very fast)
You're not that bad but keep workhow to run 5king on it.
I am 60 years old and I can walk it in 45 minutes in ordinary clothes and shoes.
So you can use that as a guideline to how fit you are
thats fantastic! I went training today and I have been training for 4 months. My trainer said I should do 5k in 45 minutes. So you have done great!
